Friendly staff who provide local information: The staff at the hostel were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were like tour guides, sharing interesting facts about the building and the surrounding area. It felt like having a personal concierge service, but with a touch of humor.
Construction work outside the building: Due to ongoing construction in the area, entering and leaving the hostel was a bit awkward. However, the hostel staff did their best to minimize any inconvenience caused.

A friendly vibe prevails at this unique hotel, with staff who love sharing information about the local area and the intriguing building itself. It's like having a personal tour guide at your disposal.
The lack of decorations in the rooms can make them feel a bit cold. It would be nice to have some artwork or rugs to add a touch of warmth.

I've stayed here a bunch of times and it's always a super cool experience! The staff is young, friendly, and really laid-back. The rooms are basic, which is perfect for me and my dogs because there's nothing they can mess up. The shared bathroom and shower are surprisingly nice and clean. Plus, they have a kitchen where you can cook your own food. The best part? Staying here in the winter means you get the place all to yourself! The old prison vibe is mind-blowing, and they've done an amazing job preserving the building. The rooms are simple but the beds are so comfortable. The staff is always really friendly and helpful. And let's not forget the location, right in the center of town! my stays here have been jaw-droppingly awesome!

What a bargain! I had a fantastic stay at Alibi Hostel. The ex-prison atmosphere was really cool, and the location in Leeuwarden was perfect. The beds were simple but comfy, and the entire place was impeccably clean. The breakfast was delicious, especially the unlimited coffee. I loved the interesting shops and services on the first floor. Alibi Hostel provided an amazing experience at a very reasonable price.

We had a total blast exploring the unique sites at Blokhuispoort. From the mouthwatering food options to the coolest shops and insanely fun entertainment, there was never a dull moment. And let's not forget the bikes! We rode around like crazy, discovering the beautiful countryside and feeling like free spirits. It was the ultimate adventure!
If there's one thing that could have made our stay even better, it would be an awesome party area for young, fun-loving people like us. We wished the hostel had a designated space for dancing, playing music, and just having a great time together.

The unique style of the converted prison made for a truly memorable stay. The hostel's location was ideal, close to all the major sites and with easy access to public transportation. The friendly and helpful staff added to the overall positive experience. The well-equipped kitchenette was a bonus for those looking to cook their own meals. Despite some minor issues with the Wi-Fi and shower facilities, I would definitely recommend staying at Alibi Hostel. a great place to stay in Leeuwarden.

I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money at the hostel. The room was perfect for us as a couple in our 40s, and the staff treated us with great hospitality. Plus, the location was fantastic, just a five-minute walk to the center of town.
Breakfast selection could be improved with a wider variety of options.

I recently had a unique experience staying at a hostel that used to be a prison. The location was fantastic, right in the center of town, and it was easy to explore all the main sights on foot. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless with great showers. I loved sleeping in a prison cell, it was such a unique feeling. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hostel had a cool art space on the ground floor with galleries and shops.
There was one downside though - the kitchen facilities were quite basic for self-catering. There was a lack of equipment and no cups or mugs provided.

Great location near city center, within walking distance of Central Station. the hostel has a unique and fun atmosphere, housed in an old prison. the staff is friendly and helpful. the rooms are simple but comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. the WiFi signal is good, and the checking process is quick and easy.
Some guests may not appreciate the fun atmosphere if they are looking for a more traditional hotel experience. the hostel does not offer free parking, so guests will need to find parking elsewhere.

The private room at Alibi Hostel Leeuwarden is unlike anything I've seen before. It's simple and friendly, and it feels like you're stepping into a piece of history. The en-suite bathroom is a nice touch, and the beds are comfy with sockets and nightlights right there. It's perfect for me and my partner on a budget!
Although the hostel was great overall, I wasn't a fan of having to make my own bed in the dorm room. But hey, that's just my personal preference.

I absolutely loved the decoration at the hotel! The way they transformed the old prison into a modern and stylish hostel was impressive. The common areas were beautifully designed and made me feel like I was in a trendy boutique hotel. As a senior woman, I appreciated the accessibility of the hotel. The lift was very handy for carrying my heavy bags and the staff were always available to assist me.
If I were to ask for one thing to make the vacation better for senior people, I would suggest having more seating areas throughout the hostel. Sometimes, after a long day of exploring, it would have been nice to have a comfortable space to relax and socialize with other guests.

The location is sick, right in the heart of Leeuwarden. We had a blast exploring all the dope gastronomic, retail, and entertainment options at Blokhuispoort. And guess what? They have bikes for rent, so we cruised around like absolute legends, discovering the beautiful countryside. It was straight fire!
The only thing we wished for was a sick party scene at the hostel. It would've been lit to have a banging dance floor or a sick DJ spinning some sick beats.

I absolutely adored the unique decoration of Alibi Hostel Leeuwarden. The mix of old prison elements and modern touches created a fascinating atmosphere that I haven't experienced before. The common areas, such as the shared kitchen and gift shop, were easily accessible for me as a senior woman. The location of the hostel in the city center made it convenient for me to explore and enjoy all the amenities nearby.
I would have appreciated if the breakfast buffet had more options tailored specifically for seniors. Perhaps some lighter and healthier choices would have made my vacation even more enjoyable.
